Charity Ride

Bucks House Of Color and the American Legion Riders are holding a Charity Ride for Byron and Lisa Halfhill on August 14th, 2010. The ride will help pay for medical expenses. Byron was diagnosed with Bone Cancer and his wife Lisa is battling Multiple Sclerosis, and is Diabetic.

The ride will begin and end at the American Legion Post 2, 1015 S. Forrest Ave., Brazil, Indiana 47834. Food will be available at the end of the ride provided by the Post 2 Restaurant. Registration will begin at 10:00 am.

Cost: $15 for single rider, $20 for couple
Cars welcome - $15 per car

With the Bucks House Of Color Fundraising Program, you’ll find it’s fun and easy to raise money for your school, league, or organization. Unlike products such as candy, cookie dough, or wrapping paper, which have been used for years, Bucks House Of Color offers a unique personalized product that parents, players, and fans will want as a memento of their team and season.
We can put any photo, graphics, and text on an authentic sports ball using a special proprietary process and equipment. We have a wide range of design templates to choose from and depending on the ball, designs can often be put in more than one place. Each player can design a ball with his or her photo, name, organization, and date. This makes a wonderful keepsake to have that will be treasured for years to come.
Bucks House Of Color offers 28 styles of balls in a variety of sizes including regulation size and mini, depending on the ball. Examples include baseball, football, basketball, soccer, volleyball and even sports such as bowling, cricket, and lacrosse. In addition to the decorated ball, customers also can choose from a range of display aids including stands and attractive wood and acrylic cases. We will include a small black acrylic stand for every ball ordered at no additional charge. The stands for the home plate will cost $5 extra.
Setting up your organization’s fundraiser is easy. Bucks House Of Color provides you with order forms that can be distributed to your group. We also will provide you with a customized sample that you can show to organization members. When people can see the finished product, this gets them excited about its potential and motivates them to buy. Be sure and set a deadline for when order forms have to be returned. Orders are then turned in with the checks being made out to your organization. Your organization then turns in the completed order forms with payment to us and we get started on your order. In most cases we will turn your order in two to four weeks depending on the size of your total sales and deliver the finished balls to you or you may stop by our facility to pick them up. You may find once people start receiving their balls and showing them around, that more people want to order. No problem. We have no minimum order and are happy to continue to do as many fill-in orders as needed on a continuing basis. Some have found it best to put a school or team logo on the sports balls instead of trying to collect pictures for them.

We also can set up a fundraiser using our customized gift packets.

Byron Halfhill struck with Bone Cancer

While on Christmas break Byron was working in his home when he felt a "pop" in his arm. They thought it was just out of place but went to the hospital anyway. They did an X-ray and said he broke his arm. Where he broke it, it can not be put in a cast. After reviewing the X-rays and CT scan they found his arm lining was thinning and there was spots showing up that may be cancer. Sure enough, it turns out he has bone cancer. The type he has is called multiple melanoma, It is throughout his whole body and they give him 3 to 5 years. Byron will have to start chemo. Byron's wife has been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. She is in need of a special back brace that will cost $1,200. It Is a hard shell brace that she needs to wear or be confined to a wheelchair. They are having difficulty getting food stamps and don't know where to turn for help. They have asked everyone to put them on your prayer lists. "We know prayers work and we sure need them right now". If you would like to make a monetary donation you can make it to Byron and Lisa Halfhill or contact me and I will make sure they get the donations.
Byron had surgery to put a rod in his arm on Tuesday January 12, 2010.

NFL Punt, Pass & Kick Competition

The Wabash Valley Fairgrounds in Terre Haute, Indiana will be hosting the NFL Punt, Pass & Kick competition on September 5, 2009. Competition is for boys and girls ages 8 to 15 and is free to enter. The competition is from 10:00am till 2:00pm. There will be a tailgate cookout starting at 11:00am, hot dogs and hamburgers will be sold for $1.00.
The NFL Punt, Pass & Kick program is a national skills competition that was establishes in 1961, making it the oldest NFL youth football program.

Clay Youth Football League Fundraiser

Bucks House Of Color and the Clay Youth Football League (CYFL) are once again teaming up in an effort to raise funds to help with the rising costs of field maintenance, insurance, and other costs for the league.
Bucks House Of Color will produce the mini 6” football imprinted with the CYFL logo. The football is an authentic version used by the sport, and is made of a high quality synthetic leather with a white panel that is treated to accept the printing of photos, logos, or text. The footballs are $15 and come with a black acrylic display stand, buttons are $2 with 35% of all sales will go to the league.

We had some heavy storms on June 19th. We were under a T-storm warning and Tornado watch. I was sitting on the deck and watched the storms move in and I took these photographs. The lightning was awesome looking as it would streak across the sky.

I took my son and his grandpa to the Cardinals game on Saturday. It was my sons first major league baseball game. While at the game, a local elementary school, (Shakamak) came out at the 7th inning to sing "Take me out to the ball game". That go the crowd fired up as well as the Cardinals. They came out and got the bases loaded when my sons favorite player, Albert Pujols (#5) came up to bat. The crowd was on their feet, screaming, then came the pitch and Pujols knocked it out of the park! I managed to get some great photos of the game including the home run hit by Pujols, a Cubs player breaking his bat, and some other very neat shots of the pitchers. It was a great game in the end with the Cardinals winning it 8 to 2.

Eric Singer, current drummer for Kiss and Alice Cooper was in town last week before starting a new Kiss tour in Europe. Eric was signing autographs for about 500 fans in Indianapolis Indiana on Sunday March 2ND. The then took time out for a Q & A session.

Mr Speed closed the evening after Eric was surprised with a birthday cake honoring his 50Th birthday. I made a couple of gifts for Eric and he in turn signed one of the home plates that we carry at Bucks House Of Color. If you have not seen Mr Speed, you are missing a great show.
